A 40 W 12 V polycrystalline solar panel, for solar street lights and off-grid systems. Supplied as a replacement panel or as a component.
What it suits
Sized for LED loads of roughly 15 to 20 W. On a street light installation this is the panel that pairs with a compact pole-top fixture and keeps its battery topped up through the monsoon rather than only in clear weather.
Using it
A charge controller is required. Face south at roughly your latitude, clear of shade through the middle of the day. Partial shade on one part of a panel reduces output disproportionately rather than proportionally, so a single overhanging branch matters more than it looks.
