Solar Panel 10 watt - 12 volt

A 10 W 12 V polycrystalline solar panel, for charging small 12 V batteries and powering compact outdoor solar fixtures. Supplied as a replacement panel or as a component in a small off-grid build.

What it suits

Sized for LED loads of roughly 3 to 5 W. A solar lighting system wants a panel at two to three times the LED wattage — not because the panel is oversized, but because that surplus is what keeps the battery topped up through cloud, dust and short winter days. A panel matched one-to-one with its load works in clear March sun and disappoints in July.

Using it

A charge controller is required. A panel described as 12 V produces around 18 to 22 V open-circuit, because it needs headroom above the battery voltage to push charge in; connecting it directly to a 12 V battery will overcharge and damage it. Face the panel south, tilt roughly to your latitude, and keep it clear of shade through the middle of the day.
