Solar Motion Wall Light - White LED Light - TTSMW5W
DiscontinuedSKU: TTSMW5W
This model is no longer manufactured.
The specifications below are kept for owners of existing installations.
The TTSMW5W is a solar wall light with a PIR motion sensor, for entrances, corridors, side passages and rear boundaries — the positions where running a cable is disproportionate to the amount of light needed.
Mounting and sensor coverage
Mount at 2 to 2.5 m. PIR sensors detect body heat moving across their field of view, so aim the fixture across the approach rather than straight down it: someone walking directly towards the sensor is detected noticeably later than someone crossing it. Lower than 2 m and the detection area is small; higher and the sensor looks down at the ground and triggers late.
What is inside
400 lumens at warm white, on a lithium-ion battery charged by a 4 W integrated panel. Warm white suits a doorway or seating area, where cool white reads as harsh at close range.
How the sensor changes the runtime
The fixture stays dim or off until movement is detected, then lights for a hold period. That duty cycle is what allows a small battery to last the night — a wall light running at full output continuously would need several times the capacity, and cost several times as much.
Installation
Two fixings, no wiring, no earthing, no electrician. Allow one full day of sun before judging the first night: the battery ships partly charged. Check the wall gets direct midday sun — a north-facing or shaded position underperforms in every season, and the monsoon simply makes that obvious.
